Licorice (Licky to his friends) is a beautiful 7-year old kitty; he is kind, gentle, and playful, and loves his "mom" Andra so much he'll let her dress him up as a bee (or the pope)…as long as there are treats afterwards, of course! You may know Andra from her tenures in FatChanceBellyDance, Ultra Gypsy, or most recently Azure Tribal Belly Dance.
Licky recently became very ill; after 2 MRIs, blood tests, a vet switch, exploratory surgery, and an extended stay in ICU, he is home now and feeling much better. Unfortunately, all of that added up to a monstrous vet bill: about $10,000! Andra is a preschool teacher and is also getting married in a few months, so Andra's closest friends have banded together to help out with the bill.
What better way to do so than to throw a dance benefit? We have an amazing dance lineup featuring some of the Bay Area's finest in belly dance, bhangra, and hula, plus 2 kickass DJs, and a raffle with fabulous prizes. Andra is performing twice: with the hula group, and with Azure. She and Licky thank you from the bottom of their hearts!

For those kind souls who can't make it to the Licky benefit on Saturday but offered to donate anyway, here's the Paypal information:
Go to www.paypal.com
log in to your existing account or create an account (Paypal will let you pay with a credit or debit card)
go to the "Send Money" tab at the top of the page
enter the email address: dmfn@excite.com
enter the amount you'd like to donate
click "continue"
Paypal will take you through the steps from there. Make sure you write "Licky Donation" or something similar in the subject line or comments field.
